What is Launch X Like?

Hi, I was just wondering whether an MIT Launch X alum from another year could answer my questions. I got in but I'm not sure whether I should go.

What was the overall experience like/ how would you rate it?
What were the people like?
What did everyone do during weekends?

Nanotechonology or Biotechnology Summer Internships/Research Programs?

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone knows about any relatively prestigious summer programs in Nanotechnology or Biotechnology that are still accepting applicants?
Thanks in Advance!

Is the Summer@Brown CRE worth it?

I'm an international student who doesn't have many research opportunities and can't do summer internships in the US (as you get paid a stipend) but I found this summer research coarse at Brown's pre college, it requires a special application, is 4 weeks long and gives you a chance to do an independent research project.

This program sounds perfect to me, Im genuinely interested in the research topics, and think summer camp is a good way to be more independent. But people say that pre-college summer camps have little-to-no bearing on college applications. While I find the course interesting I also want to make sure it's useful to me in the future, especially because I'll be going to a different country for it.

Would doing summer internships/volunteering locally at my country be better than doing research? I want to be a STEM/pre med major in the future and maybe apply to some BS/MD programs...

Summer@Brown 2020

Hello!

I just wanted to know if anyone else plans to attend Summer@Brown 2020??? Obviously there are going to be people, but I don't know anyone and it would be cool to have someone I know before actually getting there Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
:)
I believe that I'll be there for the two week session beginning July 13, but I'm not sure what program I'm going to sign up for yet (probably something related to humanities or writing).

Anyways, anyone who plans to attend, feel free to respond no matter what dates or what program Image may be NSFW.

Engineering Summer Academy at Penn - ESAP 2019

Hi!

My son applied to the ESAP program by the priority deadline. I know the results are supposed to come out sometime next week. I just thought I'll get this thread started so people can share their status and post if results start coming out.

Thanks

MMSS (Michigan Math and Science Scholars)

Hello, has anybody done the MMSS program at UMich in the past? If so, is it fun and worth the cost? Do you get to learn a lot? Is it boring? Do you get enough free time? The class about the statistics of happiness seems the coolest to me. Thanks!

interlochen summer creative writing: should i go?

hi, i'm a sophomore who just got accepted to the interlochen summer academy's creative writing program but i'm having doubts since the payment is so high and they have a really narrow commitment window... the experience seems really cool but how competitive is it/what's the class size? i'm still waiting on many other program decisions too and basically everything depends on the financial aid i can get. can anyone offer advice?

Summer Program Decision Help (UCLA vs. Columbia)

Hello,
I recently got accepted into two summer programs: A One Week Summer Immersion Program at Columbia University (Introduction to Finance and Investment Management) and a 3-week program at UCLA (Summer Econ Institute).
I need help to choose which one to go to, as my parents said I can only choose one.
Quick Comparisons:
The UCLA program costs around $4,500.
The Columbia program costs around $3,000-$3,500 with airfare included (I live in CA).
The UCLA program offers 4 credits for Econ 1, which I will be able to put into my transcript for HS since I live in CA.
The Columbia Program offers zero credits.
The UCLA programs includes dorms, food, and activities.
The Columbia program is simply 2 2-hour classes each day.
About Myself:
I am currently a freshman enrolled in a CA HS.
I always have had an interest in economics, but the class got full at my school this year, so I didn't get a chance to take it. I want to take advantage of one of these opportunities to indulge in my econ interest.
I am currently leaning towards the UCLA program, but I haven't seen any forums with any reviews or anything of the program.
Any input at all would be greatly appreciated as I need to make a decision very soon.
Thank you!
