TRIALS NYU Law 2020
Hey guys, I thought I should start a thread for the TRIALS program for 2020. I'm applying for the first time, and I have absolutely no idea how competitive an applicant I am for this program (since my SAT score kind of sucked). Hi! I think this might be the right place for this, but I'm not sure. Anyways, I have an application due tomorrow, and it requires one letter of recommendation. My recommender has already submitted several letters on my behalf in the past but has yet to respond to my request to submit the letter to this program that's due tomorrow. Should I send her a reminder email? If so, what should it look like? I don't want to sound overly naggy...

Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation?
S21 was accepted to this at the Homewood (residential( campus and the payment deadline is looming. He applied bc he's a math/science kid (in multivariable calc & AP Physics C this yr) but doesn't know which direction to take for college. Does anyone have any input on this program? It's expensive so we don't want to pay for it if he's too advanced and wouldn't learn anything (they did require SAT/ACT, transcripts, recs, but Trig was the highest math "required", or if it doesn't help you decide if engineering is for you. He didn't apply to help his chances to get in at this or other schools. He's not qualified for all the great/free summer science programs bc he's been heavily involved in a sport year-round until just lately (concussion) and hasn't done science olympiads, etc. He's looking for a program that will help guide him toward a major. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I'm trying to apply to the Iowa Young Writers Studio this year. Any advice/thoughts from past attendees of this program would be appreciated, as would students who are applying too.
I have a specific question: In the submittable page, it asks for academic and extracurricular interests. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to just list interests, or talk about them in a paragraph or something longer?

Program help: USC Bovard Scholar vs NIH STEP-UP program.
Hello. I was recently accepted into 2 minority based programs as an Asian male. I was wondering if anyone had more information on these two programs. It's a hard choice because it seems that both of them are competitive and idk if I should wait for MITES, SAMS, SSP, etc.
I know that USC has 70% of their students get into top30 universities. But the STEP-UP program is paid research and I get to present my project at NIH. I'm mostly interested in mechanical/biomedical engineering and I feel that the research will help benefit me throughout my senior year (such as publishing my findings in science fairs). Does anyone know the acceptance rates for these two programs? and does anyone have experience with them?
