So, I recently applied to the UMich MMSS program during this Summer (2016). It's a super competitive program, even applied to by international students. There were 36 spots open, and I was accepted (yay!). There were 3 sessions, and I got into the first one: June 17-July 1. I was just curious if anyone on these forums are also attending this program during the same time? I just thought it would be super cool to talk before-hands and then formally meet there!

Recommendation for FREE (merit based) summer camps for middle and high school students?
Can someone provide me a list or recommend to me great, ACADEMIC more on STEM focused summer camps that are free of cost that's being held / run by prestigious universities?
I am open to to programs that's not being ran by these universities as well but are cost-free... Preferably something MERIT BASED...

zoology, biology, marine biology summer programs in US and abroad
Hi, my kid has always been interested in animals and we're past the age where summer camps at the zoo fit the bill. For someone who might major in zoology, biology, marine biology or the like (not animal husbandry or veternarian) in college, what summer programs exist and which ones are good? I know that A&M Galveston and San Diego State (I think) have "Seacamp." Others? Thanks!

Harvard Secondary School vs Summer@Brown
I've been accepted into both of these programs. I would take two courses at either program. Harvard goes for 7 weeks and gives credit courses, while Brown is five weeks and the courses are not for credit. Anybody have experience with either of these programs? Have only two weeks left to decide. Also, I know what classes I want to take the same classes at both places, so which courses I want to take aren't a factor.

I'm interested in applying to the Clark Scholars program for Summer 2016, and I was curious about what the application consists of. In addition to essays, test scores, and our school transcripts, do any of you former Clark Scholars know whether the program asks for applicants to list their extracurricular activities and teacher recommendations onto the application as well?

The PROMYS thread! I've seen a bit of chatter on the camp, but there's no thread up for this year (that I'm aware of).
We have some discussion, talk cool math problems, I... don't really know, even.
I'm a class of 2019, and heard about PROMYS just under a month ago, and have been slaving intermittently at the admissions quiz for the last two weeks or so. This is awful exciting. ^^

COSMOS vs. UCLA HS-SEAS summer tech camp
My S has been admitted to UCLA HS-SEAS summer tech camp and John Hopkins Engineering innovations. But is waitlisted for COSMOS UCSD Cluster 1. His interest is engineering. Should we wait for COSMOS or just go ahead with UCLA HS-SEAS summer tech camp? Risk of waiting is to lose both.
