What summer program would you recommend for 12- and 13-year-old girls from Finland?
The most important thing academically is to learn English in ESL/ELL-classes and also in afternoon activities with American kids. The optimal location would be close (less than 200 miles) to an international airport.

YSPA issue: do you know how to inform test scores to the YSPA application?
Hi there,
I'm new here. I'm trying to apply for the YSPA program but found nowhere to post my test scores, and other helpful information. Does someone know how to inform the program your test scores, extracurricular, etc? Without these solid materials, how can a prestigious program determine their finals? The deadline is approaching.

Wesleyan's Center for Creative Youth
Can anyone comment on the Center for Creative Youth program? My daughter is interested in theater. Also, they have the option of local auditions or sending in a video. We are not near Wesleyan and my daughter was planning to submit a video, but does anyone know if that puts her at a disadvantage? We *might* consider flying in for an audition of that's the case. Good Art Summer Programs for High School Students
I'm interested in oil painting, and I was wondering what the good art summer programs are. I'm looking for something like CSSSA as opposed to a pre-college program, since CSSSA is a little more selective and less expensive than most pre-college programs (I might be wrong). I'm not completely ruling out pre-college programs though (thinking of applying to the UCLA art summer session), since I'm unable to make the CSSSA deadline this year. Thoughts?

SCS Noonan Scholars vs NSLI-Y Korea Summer
I know it’s early to assume I got into any of these programs, but I don’t know which one I would pick if I had to decide between both of them. The first one appears to be very focused on application and college aid with classes in writing and calculus. The second program is a study abroad program by the Department of State that focuses on language learning. While I feel like NSLI-Y would be more fun, I am also scared that not pick SCS is shooting myself im the foot. What do you guys think. Any experience with either?

Why so few questions on SUMaC 2019?
So I was just looking at the SUMaC questions for this year, and there seemed to be an oddly small number of them as compared to previous years (only 6 as compared to the usual 9-10)?
Why could this be? Is it possible that they had too few applications last year?
Also, what implications does this have on the number of solutions needed? I have solved all, but for 2 of the "find best bound" type questions parts, I am not sure my bounds are the best. how many questions must be solved now to get in, because when there were around 9-10 I have heard you need to solve more than 9.

Length of solutions for SUMaC
To those who have previously gotten into SUMaC, could you please tell me how many pages of solutions you wrote? I have written 60 page for 6 questions (though there are lots of diagrams and my handwriting is fairly large). Is that too much?
Also, do you know perhaps why there are only 6 questions this time around? Maybe they experienced a fall in applications last year? If so, how many questions do you think one must get right now? I believe that, at the very worst, I would have solved all questions except one particular case for one particular part of a problem, with only one part being what I'd call "shady" .

I'm a junior btw, 1500 SAT, decent math-related ECs and tried all the Challenge Problems. Probably got about 5-6 fully right. Past threads suggest this camp is selective so fingers crossed this works out!

What are my chances of getting into the Army Educational Outreach program?
Ok so I am a high school junior in NJ applying for the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP). I am a female and hispanic so I meet two of their requierments. My class rank is 20 out of 314. My GPA is 4.27 (this is weighted and the highest weighted GPA possible is a 5.0). I am an all honors and AP student. Some of my “background” includes taking a technology course last year at Rutgers and then basically just taking honors and AP sciences. I don’t have background doing an internship or apprenticeship. Either way, what are my chances of getting into the program. Obviously I’m applying to other programs but this one is close to where I live and I would really like to get in. So are my chances good?
