Envision Stanford Law SUMMER Program for High Schoolers.

Hi All, I have seen some discussions on the Envision Stanford Law SUMMER program for High Schoolers. Any feedback from anyone who attended it would be great! Understand that it is a for-profit organization but is there value in it if a student is interested in Law? The description mentions San Francisco Superior Court. Do students actually practice a mock trial at court? Are the teachers and the Stanford professors they mention all legitimate? Thanks! Any other recommendations for a junior that is interested in Politics, Law and Business? Thanks AR

I participated in a program called LaunchX last summer and wanted to offer my experience if anyone is considering it or wanted to learn morea bout it. Why apply to Launch: - the program is highly hands on. You create REAL companies and make lifelong friends. - most companies formed at Launch continues after the conclusion of the program. I've heard of companies from two years ago still running and making enough money to be self-sufficient. - every single lecture (maybe except the first three days) is designed to support your company growth. the lecturer (sometime guest speakers) are highly knowledgeable in their respective field and usually will stay 10 minutes after lecture to answer individual questions. You learn everything from primary market research (PMR) to professional marketing. You even get legal consulting! - Launch reimburse some of your prototyping costs. Do not apply to Launch if you are trying to: - get a golden ticket to x university. While Launch team has a good relationship with their universities, it's not a golden ticket. - just to fill your time. you simply won't get in if you aren't passionate. Again if you have any questions about Launch, just let me know. Good luck on your applications everyone!

CMU AI4ALL and SAMS - Question on essays

I am applying to both CMU AI4ALL and SAMS programs. There are 4 essays for AI4ALL and 5 for SAMS. I see that some essay prompts are similar (not 100% but quite) between the 2 programs. Can I "reuse" my essays from one program in the second program? Are these 2 programs evaluated separately or together - that might help me decide how much I can "resue." Thanks very much!!!

Hello everyone. Does anyone know what the stats and EC's for those who have gotten accepted in past years look like? I'm not sure if what I have is enough to be admitted. I heard the admission rate is extremely low. I'm from the Seattle area so if anyone else is applying lmk :)

I’m interested in being a senate page for summer or fall 2019 and have a few questions. Is it possible to be accepted if you haven’t done work on political campaigns? Are you allowed to bring a computer from home? I know phones aren’t allowed but I don’t know where they stand on computers. What is the experience like? Is it hard to adjust to life in the senate? Does anyone have experience with applying from NJ? There are a lot of questions here and I would really appreciate if anyone would be able to answer some.

Is this program prestigious?

https://med.stanford.edu/psychiatry/special-initiatives/CNIX.html I was wondering if the program above is prestigious or anyone here has heard of it and knows of it bring selective or just wanting our money. My parents are not in the best place financial wise but I want to do something this summer related to neuroscience as I plan to major in it in college. This program sounds prestigious, but it only asked for a 100 word response on why you would want to join. No transcripts or teacher reqs.

Princeton Summer Programs 2019

Recently I've been researching college programs for high school students such as myself. I'm a freshman and my birthday is in late July, so some programs aren't available to me due to the fact that I'll be fourteen still when attending most of this programs. I am looking at the JSA and SIG programs at Princeton, both offering financial aid and a three week stay in the dorms. The pros to going to the JSA program are that they have a strong law program (I want to be a lawyer) and there will be many well-known speakers (like Brian Williams in past years) in that program. It is also about $400 less expensive than SIG. SIG doesn't offer many classes where the law is involved, some being downright questionable, like Just Dance class. Although, I believe I'd be in better company because of needing to be a 95 percentile test taker to get in. Finally, this doesn't matter much but it is just a bonus... the SIG program has more recreational activities for after class which will make it more fun. Please help me decide or correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone know if JSA has lots of recreational activities as well? Thanks and I hope to get a response!

Hey guys! I noticed that although applications are opening January 28, there doesn't seem to be a thread for this year yet. My twin and I were both accepted in the past, and I wanted to make sure everyone has a space to discuss the application and ask questions for 2019. We were both accepted to our dream schools for college (Columbia University for me, Haverford College for her), and believe that IYWS played a role in that, in addition to it simply being an absolutely incredible opportunity for high school students and writers in general. Also, I was considering filming a video on the components of the IYWS application (portfolio, personal statement, etc.), and how I got accepted, ft. my twin, and discussing what it's like to actually go there. Would something like that be helpful to you guys?

I am currently in high school and am looking for a way to gain more experience in a clinical setting. I would also be interested in completing administrative work (i.e. answering calls, making appointments). What is the best way to do this-- calling or approaching in person?
