Hi Everyone!
I'm starting a new thread for potential applicants of the Caminos Al Futuro program at The George Washington University. I attended last year and was part of the inaugural cohort. If you have any questions, let me know!
I know it was tough going through the process last year without any alums to answer my questions.

Summer Science Program 2018
"Each summer since 1959, highly gifted and motivated high school students have come to the Summer Science Program to immerse themselves in hands-on, experimental science, and to live and work with their intellectual peers for the first time. The experience changes their lives, and the benefits continue for life."
There are programs in astrophysics at New Mexico Tech and CU Boulder and in biochemistry at Purdue.
I'm an alumna from SSP 2017 at CU Boulder starting this to let people know about this amazing program. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

not so much of a "chance me" but I NEED ADVICE!!
what I have so far(I'm a junior in high school)
GPA: 3.9
ACT: 33
EC: student council, math honor society, national honor society, science national honor society i also take college classes at my community college.

I'm not looking for anyone to chance me ( if you want to you can), I know that admissions to the ivy league are like a lottery and I don't mind. I'm currently worried about my extracurricular activities. I can't seem to find something that I enjoy. I moved to a new school and seem depressed since then so i guess it reflects but I don't know what to do.i was thinking of applying to internships but I also want to go to summer camp. which should I choose?

FSU YSP 2018
Hello :) I've applied to FSU YSP for the summer of '18 and I was wondering if anyone has gotten any acceptances yet. Feel free to share stats, ECs, etc.
The only test I put down was my PSAT score, a 1440. I have taken four AP tests: AP Stat (5), AP US Government (5), AP European History (4), and AP Language and Composition (4). I have a 4.0 GPA unweighted.
I am heavily involved in Blessings in a Backpack. I raised $30,000 for Blessings to feed kids in my county. I am treasurer of Incite Club, which raises awareness of women's rights and fundraises for our local women's shelter. I have been playing piano for four years. I come from a very small suburban town, so I do not have prior research experience. However, I did express my profound love for Computer Science in my essay.
Both of my teacher recommendations were probably very good, as I am very close with both of them. One was from my AP Calc AB teacher and the other was from my IB Chem teacher.
I think my essay was pretty good, I spent a lot of time perfecting it.
If anyone else would like to share their info please feel free! I hope if I get in that I get to meet you in person!
:)

2018 Tennessee Governor's School for International Studies
I've been looking for a forum for TNGSIS but haven't been able to find one yet. Now that everyone has heard back, I'd love to have a place to talk with others who will be there!
On another note, has anyone gotten any more info than their initial acceptance? They said they would send it in March, so I'm wondering when that will come.
Congratulations to everyone who made it!
