Summer programs in field ecology/env studies/ag/botany?
D20 is interested in a summer pre-college program focused on field ecology, environmental studies, agriculture, or botany (wide range of interests, for sure). So far we've found:
* College of the Atlantic Islands Through Time program
* Summer in Sewanee Pre-College Field Studies program
* Smith College Field studies in sustainability program
* Mount Holyoke Restoration Ecology Summer Program - have to be local
Any reviews of these programs or other recommendations? Probably looking for a 1-3 week experience (vs. longer) and of course affordability would be great!

NYOUSA (National Youth Orchestra) Reputation?
Hello!
This summer I was accepted into Carnegie Hall's NYOUSA, which is a tuition-free program partially funded by the US State Department. We toured and performed around Europe, engaging in some cultural exchange activities as well as meeting with US and foreign government officials.
I regrettably don't know much about the world of college admissions, so I'm just trying to gauge my current standing in regards to ECs in preparation for next year (I will be an incoming Junior). Does anyone know anything concerning the reputation of this program or if it looks good on college applications?

I'd like to hear from international students who have previously applied to RSI: did you fill in the application on the page or contacted CEE and followed a completely different application procedure? Legitimate Law Programs?
I’ve been looking into summer law programs but a lot of the ones I’ve found, especially some of the ones at really prestigious schools, look good at first, but from further research it seems like they’re just scams for money that don’t help you in the admissions process at all. What are some summer law programs that will actually teach me something and help my college application?

Senate Page Program?
Hello! I'm a junior this year and I just started looking to the US Senate Page Program. I was thinking of applying, but I had a couple of questions that i've been struggling to find the answesrs for. Like, do you get to choose which session you apply for, or do they assign it to you. Also, as far as applications, is the application reviewed by your senator, and then chosen, or does it go through other people who run the program. ( i don't know if that question makes sense).

I want to submit my proposal for the MIT THINK Scholars program. Any previous winners have advice? Does anyone know how many people apply each year? They send results back really fast (according to the timeline they posted) so I assumed not many. Also, how was the experience? Did you enjoy it? Do you think this would look good on a college application? It's not a program where you pay to go and is based solely on your work.
