Summer Science Internships Age Restriction??

Hi guys! I'm a rising senior and I'm currently looking for summer science internships. I realized that I passed a lot of internships that have applications due mid January or earlier :// but I hope to find more lol. So I do know that another really good option is to take initiative and email many professors, but I was hoping to also apply to some good internship programs or summer programs that are under $5000 in cost, or possible have stipends :D. Unfortunately, it seems like programs such as the Arthritis Foundation or NIH SIP have age requirements that I can't meet because I don't turn 17 until August ;-;. Are there any other good programs that you guys recommend that are better than emailing professors and getting an internship, like SIMR? Thanks so much in advance :))

Has anyone heard of this program for high schoolers The web site has no info on 1. What level of high schoolers are considered - rising sophomores (maybe not), rising juniors? 2. How much does it cost?In some place it say around $5500? 3. What is the acceptance rate? Only 50 kids are taken? has anyone attended? Was it worth it? Does it help in college apps? Thanks

Help please: Research Internship

I am a high school student. I've recently been looking into internships this summer. Due to transportation issues, it seems that my best chance is contacting professors at a local university who teach subjects or are conducting research projects that I am interested in. I would truly appreciate tips about how to go about this. As in, how soon should I apply? It's for the summer, but I don't know if I risk losing a chance otherwise. How should I mention the subject or even introduce myself/make myself, a young high school junior, seem like a trustworthy and good candidate? I would truly appreciate such an internship, and although I hope to be a doctor, I'd really like to expose myself to different parts of the biology field. Thank you!!

I'm sorry if this is a little weird but I'm panicking over this. I'm a freshman who takes a Creative Writing class meant for juniors. If I could send somebody my writing, could you realistically estimate my odds of being accepted? I'm sorry for the weirdness, again, haha.

I'm super nervous because I'm a sophomore, and I ended with a C in Calc BC and a B in AP Bio first semester. My UW is 3.85 and W is 4.1. I'm interested in applying to Stanford Humanities Institute and YYGS this year, and NSLI-Y and TASP next year.

I am interested in applying for the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center High School Summer Research Volunteer Program this year. Does anybody know how selective it is? Would having connections at the university help? Also, if people that have gotten in could share what the application process is like that would be very helpful. Thank you!

Pre-College Summer Programs from t20s

Would doing multiple online pre college summer programs from say stanford, cornell, and darthmouth significantly increase the chances of getting into a t20 school? Or are they just a waste of money in essence. I have heard arguments from both sides, and would love to get a definite answer before i burden my teachers with requests of rec letters.

What to do during my Summer before Senior Year?

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great day. I am currently a junior level high school student. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do the summer after my junior year? I feel like my academics are fine(Straight A's 9th, 10th, 11th grade fall, 4 AP courses this year(Statistics, Calculus BC, Physics 2, English Language and Compositions), 1450 SAT(Hoping to retake and get at least 1500)). In school, I hold an office position in the Math club and go to a science club, both of which I regularly attend. I have read on lots of forum discussions that those summer programs at colleges do not help very much for college applications. Should I go get a part time job? Volunteering? Should I start grinding out college applications? I have almost no ECs by the way. My stats is essentially purely academic. I stand out in no ways in terms of extracurriculars. I have volunteered as a physics and math mentor at a local library for the past few summers(I have around 100 hours of community service cumulative). I am hoping to get into a decent college. Perhaps UC David, or Irvine if possible? I am hoping to become a physicist when I grow up. :) If anyone can give me some advice on what to do over the summer, that would be wonderful and much appreciated! :D Thanks.

hey, i'm currently a sophomore at a public high school in California and i keep hearing that i should make use of my summer... so what should i do this summer? should i get my driver's license, apply for a summer camp, or take a class online? i'm going to be going to an annual mission trip with my church and studying for the SAT, but that's pretty much it. i'm interested in majoring in biology but a lot of my awards are liberal arts related... my statistics aren't a problem (UW. 4.0, W: 4.5, i got a 1500 on the on the practice test i took a year ago). it's my extracurriculars that are lacking. thank you so much!

Understanding the Essay Prompt

I'm doing applications for this summer program at a really good college in my area and I'm stuck in the process. So I have to respond to the following: "Share a moment that has made you ever better in relation to the academic path you are on. Why did you choose this path and what interests you most about it?" "Why did you CHOOSE THIS PATH and what interest you most about it?" Choose???? I'm deeply confused (and stupid). I'm not getting this. I'm only a student in high school and am not following a specific career/academic path (yet) because um. . .I'm still in high school and not in college. The only path I'm on is taking all the courses I need to satisfy the graduation requirement and to be competitive for college admissions. I don't even know how to approach this. I'm not asking anyone to write this for me but to only help me understand the prompt.
