Tips on applying to Pioneer Academics research program.
Hey, im planning on applying to the Pioneer Academics research program. For the second half of the application dealing with my 4 research topics that I am interested in, I was wondering if there are any tips I should keep mind. I'm a junior and in my school, freshman and sophomore years are when people get their grad. requirements out of the way, like health and art. That means that this year and next are when I can take my classes of interest, like psych. or macroeconomics for example. I haven't taken many subject tests either, so I feel that the first part of the application that asks for "relevant courses and tests" for me will be very weak. Also, what should I put for the other two parts, "experience or qualifications in this field... anything in your background" and "Why do you want to engage in this research area of interest?". Yes, I can read and understand the questions, but I want to make sure my admission is as strong as it can be, so I wanted to hear some advice on what should I focus on or try to talk about. Thanks.

GMU ASSIP vs. NIH
Hello,
My 11th grade daughter is lucky enough to get accepted into both summer internships, ASSIP (non-paid) and NIH (paid). She has a hard time trying to decide between the 2 programs since she likes both. One is near home (ASSIP) vs. one is 45 min - 1 hour commute (NIH). Which one should she choose ? She is doing biochem research at both programs, and is thinking of bio/premed major for the future.

University of Miami's Summer Scholars Program
Does anyone else plan to go to this program, or has anyone already attended in the past? I received the Vista Scholarship (full) for the Infectious Diseases program (my second choice behind Psychiatry). I'd really like to know insight on the program from someone who has already attended before I commit to it or simply meet someone who will be going this summer.

2018 Young Leader's Summit by the Youth Leadership Consortium: Is it a scam?
I recently received an email from the Youth Leadership Consortium inviting me to apply for the Young Leader's Summit. It says it accepts 200 low-income students and will be held at UChicago without any fees, even transportation. It says it's partners with College Board, Wells Fargo, Jack Kent Cookie Foundation, American Indian College Fund, etc. so it seems legit and they aren't asking for money... but I can't find any info on the web.
I've tried googling them and nothing comes up and their website is blocked by my school.
They do ask for personal info on the application about income and stuff tho.
Has anyone gone to this program before or is it a scam?
