Hey Guys!
I was recently accepted into both SIMR and Garcia, but I'm having a hard time choosing which one to attend. I was wondering if the past alumni could input their experiences so I could get a better grasp of each program's benefits, culture and day-to-day experiences.
Thanks!

Yale Young Scholars 2018
I got accepted into the summer program and wanted to connect with others to get some more information. I would have expected there to be a discussion group on this topic, but I can't find it. Can others who are knowledgeable reply to this post or direct me to the right group?
Thx.

Summer programs for Rising Sophomores
Am looking for some good summer programs for my son - currently a freshman - interested in computer science, digital media & filmmaking. He is a science+arts kid so needs a bit of both. (credit courses preferred but not necessary)
We are late in the process for this year but if you know of any programs still accepting applications for this year (or the next) it would be very helpful.
TIA

SCAD Rising Star Summer Program
Hi, I'm a junior and I'm applying for SCAD's Rising Star Summer Program, has anyone here completed the program? And do you happen to know where I can get a promo code for it? Also if this application will be permanently in their records, could that help me in the long run?

Is Yale Young Global Scholars Worth it?
I'd like to attend a good summer program this summer (currently sophomore). I received an email from Yale Young Global Scholars. As it is incredibly expensive, I was wondering if it is truly worth it. Does it give you a boost on college apps? Any other suggestions for other summer programs would be great too!
Thank you :)

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion vs Kode with Klossy Camp Scholarship
About a month ago, I applied for the Girls Who Code Immersion camp in SF and got waitlisted (I applied for early decision). Recently, I learned about another similar coding camp called Kode with Klossy in which I plan to also apply to as a backup plan for my summer. I feel like even though I got waitlisted for GWC, I will still have a pretty good chance of getting in from what I've heard from GWC alumni and because of my early decision app (priority waitlist).
In the case that I do get into both programs, which one should I go to? I am leaning more towards GWC, however is there anyone who has some input or experience with Kode with Klossy?

Stanford Summer Program
Hey,
So I applied to the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Program and I have recently read some articles saying that it is not worth it and that it could even harm your application. In my opinion, I did not think the application process made it seem like this program was unimportant at all. I needed to submit recommendations, transcripts, written responses to a variety of questions, work samples etc. So how come that so many people say they are just not impressive? Furthermore, should I go if I get accepted? I am conflicted, and I do not know what to do. I am not going to this program to get a boost on my application but rather to experience Stanford and the interesting courses it offers. But now that people have said it can even hurt your application, my questions are how and why?
Thanks!

McCombs Summer High School Programs 2018
Hello all!
Is anyone applying to one of the McCombs summer high school programs they offer at UT Austin? I'm currently a sophomore (so I am ineligible for the Subiendo Academy) but I am applying for both MFEA and DYNAMC.
If there are any alumni out there, how selective are the programs? Could you give me any application tips I can use? Also, I would love to know your experience in the program!
Thanks!

THEATRE Summer Camp: Interlochen VS BUSTI
I applied to a number of summer theatre programs this summer, and have received two acceptance letters from my top picks. I'm struggling to choose, and am looking for some guidance. I am caught between Interlochen's Repertory Theatre Production and Boston University's Summer Theatre Intensive. I have attended Interlochen in the past, I attended one of the 2016 Musical Theatre Workshops. I had a very good experience with it overall. I have not attended any program like BUSTI in the past. It's on a college campus and more replicant of a BFA program.
Can anyone with experience with either/both of these summer programs weigh in? What are the pros and cons of each program? What was your personal experience. Any advice is welcome!!
Thank you!

'Summer program' vs 'online_course+volunteering' vs 'internship'
I am a high school soph - planning to pursue my interest in math over the summer. Considering 3 options and would like input on which one is best to pursue my interest while improving my college admission chances for selective colleges.
Option#1: A summer program - last year as a freshman I got admitted into programs like PROMYS, AwesomeMath and Mathcamp. I went to one of them, loved it. As a repeat camper, I think I will be able to get admission. Advantage of the camp is I will get exposure to do smart people and might be able to get some math research exposure. this camp costs a bit but parents are willing to pay if I really want to go.
Option#2: do an online course. Currently, I am on my way to complete the most challenging courses offered at school: Calculus AP + Stats AP. But by doing an online course this summer, I will be able to go for a DE class in a nearby college which could potentially show my interest/expertise in math to potential colleges. This also enables me to do some summer volunteering. So far my volunteering hours are not many and this will help add some - can volunteer at a math teaching program. this option does not cost anything.
Option#3: this is not in hand yet but can do an internship with a prof at a local college - got a favourable response but this is not yet confirmed. This is more open-ended but could potentially lead to a research project that I can contribute. I can at least gain researching skills and a potential reco from this prof. This option also does not cost anything.
Which one you think is the best for furthering my interest in math and also to improve my chances in getting into a top-20 college.

USC Summer Program for High School Students
Hi
My son (current freshman) is very interested in USC media/film/CS programs for undergrad. He is contemplating a 'for credit' summer course at USC for this summer - perhaps a course in video game design or 3D design . Any reviews/advice would be very helpful. TIA.
